A single lapse can turn the entire trial in favour of the accused.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"509\" data-end=\"551\"><strong data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"551\">Strict Liability, Strict Procedure<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"552\" data-end=\"925\">The NDPS Act imposes severe penalties, even for small quantities of illegal substances. However, to secure a conviction, the prosecution must meet very high standards of proof. Courts insist that every stage \u2014 from search, seizure, sampling, sealing, storage, and transportation \u2014 must strictly follow the law.
